2013 Handmade Holiday Showcase Day 4 : Decorate for the Holidays with Nostalgic Vintage :-)

Prettige Feestdagen!!!

Welcome to Day 4 of our 2013 Handmade Holiday Showcase! :-)

We're happy to present to you a special Home Decor Holiday Guide curated by our lovely leader, Patricia

Enjoy!

A Holiday Gift Guide

Lacey Tree Skirt Trim
Add some cozy charm around your Christmas Tree by using a unique tree skirt made from a vintage petticoat.

Dress Your Windows

For a unique window treatment add holiday hued vintage aprons as valences and tiers. Just hang by the apron strings attached to the curtain rod.

Christmas on a Silver Platter

Add cozy charm to just about anything by displaying it on a vintage silver platter. Arrange a vignette of Putz style houses, on a platter, or use it as a holder for your Holiday cards. Better still, use to hold a an array of vintage ornaments! The possibilities are endless-the charm is irresistible !

Shabby Chic Tree Stand

Improve that tree stand by resting it in a vintage galvanized tub. Not only will it hide the stand with a rustic cover up, it will hold water for your tree for days on end!

Skaters' Delight

Get the feel of a classic Currier and Ives winter scene by creating a vignette with vintage ice skates. Hang from a peg festooned with greenery and adorned with a bow and you have classic winter charm!

Holiday Hued

Group red and green vintage pieces on a shelf or table top to make a festive seasonal statement.

Crystal Christmas

Nothing catches the glow of Christmas lights than vintage glass pieces. Consider using vintage glassware as containers for Poinsettia plants, Christmas greens or a fragrant grouping of frosted pine cones.

Kitsch and Cute

Don't neglect those small spaces. Display a few smaller vintage pieces together to add holiday magic to any spot. Vintage kitchen utensils tied with a gingham ribbon can become unique ornaments.

Hearty wishes for a festive season filled with memory making moments and quiet reflections. In the spirit of the holiday, we'll close with lyrics from a popular vintage Christmas song first recorded in 1954, Home for the Holidays.

♫ There's no place like home for the holidays, 'cause no matter
How far away you roam, if you want to be happy in a million ways
For the holidays, you can't beat home, sweet home. ♫
